The Richmond Hill Wildcats ended a four-game losing streak Friday at the expense of the Long County Blue Tide. The Cats beat the Tide 39-21. For Long County, who is still winless for the season, the defeat was especially bitter as it was the team’s last home game and senior night.

At the end of the first half, the Wildcats were on top 19-0, but, as they have all season, the Tide played hard right up until the clock ran out. They put up 21 points in the second half. However, Richmond Hill also scored three times in the final period for the win. The loss dropped the Tide to 0-8, while the Wildcats improved to 3-5.

In other Region 2-AA action from Friday night, Charlton County (7-0-1 overall and 6-0 in the region) beat Brantley County (5-3 and 3-3) 30-22, Appling County (7-1 and 5-1)defeated McIntosh County (6-2 and 5-1) 22-20, Tattnall County (6-2 and 4-2) won over Benedictine Military Academy (5-4 and 3-4) 16-13, and Pierce County (1-7 and 1-5) shut out Jeff Davis (2-7 and 1-6) 40-0.
