LCMS FBLA competes at state

Last month, 27 Long County Middle School FBLA members competed in the State Leadership Conference in Perry. They took part in events such as public speaking, creed recital, impromptu speaking, battle of the chapters, computer-related skills events and business-related testing events.
The chapter earned “silver status” and won third place overall in the state. The chapter placed first in the state for its American enterprise project, which was called “Making the Shade.” This project, carried out by FBLA and Beta Club members, increased the number of trees planted on the school’s campus. The chapter earned a third-place award for its local activities, including all community service, school service, socials and events throughout the year. The chapter also earned a fourth-place award for its toy-donation community project, which served as a collection for Toys for Tots. Finally, the chapter scrapbook, made by eighth-grader Shelby Logan, earned a fourth-place award.

• Madison Courtemanche: ninth place in creed recital
