Another 3rd ID soldier dies in Afghanistan

Chief Warrant Officer James E. Groves III, 37, of Kettering, Ohio, died March 16 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense.

He was the eighth 3rd ID soldier to die while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom last week. One of them had been wounded earlier.

A news release from Fort Stewart's Public Affairs Office said Groves was assigned to 3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Hunter Army Airfield. The incident is under investigation.
