Mr. and Mrs. Don Sanker of Hinesville announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Sara Katrina, to John Murray Spurlin, son of Carol Spurlin and the late Neal Spurlin of Hinesville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lois R. Sanker and the late Walter Z. Sanker of Altoona, Pa., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward R. Laughlin of Lakemont, Pa. She graduated from Liberty County High School in 2005, and is a 2009 graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She has accepted a teaching job with the Liberty County School System for the 2009-10 school year.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnny B. Spurlin of Elba, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Deward Murray Jolley of Valdosta. He graduated from Newnan High School in 2000 and works at Cherokee Rose County Club in Hinesville.
The wedding is at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Belvedere Island Clubhouse in Townsend. Invitations will be sent.
