Editor, On the evening of April 24, 2009, the true dedication of our local emergency workers was unselfishly demonstrated.
Sheriff J. Don Martin and his deputies, volunteer firefighters from Riceboro, Eastern District and Walthourville fire departments, Commissioner Marion Stevens Sr., EMA Director Mike Hodges, along with Liberty County Animal Control did not hesitate to come to our aid during the search and rescue mission of our beloved family member.
The citizens of Liberty County are truly blessed to have such dedicated individuals.  It was in our time of distress that your true heroism was exemplified.
Please know that we will be forever grateful for your service committed to us during our time of need.  May God bless and keep you in our prayers.
