Soccer signup
Hinesville Soccer will be registering for its fall soccer program Thursday for our U14 and U19 girls, U16 boys and U8 coed teams. The U19 Athena team will participate in tournaments and the U8 program is an eight-week developmental program. Registration will be at the First Presbyterian Christian Academy fields, enter from Court Street.  A minimum of $25 is required for registration. After-school

Kool Kids for Christ, a free after-school program at St. James Community Center is taking registration. It offers tutoring and sports. School-age children are encouraged to participate, but registration is required. The children will have worship and praise service followed by tutoring or private homework time. They may then participate in 45 minutes of sports before receiving dinner and going home. For more information, visit the center on Holmestown Road or the center at (912) 884-3016.

Bass club
The Liberty County Bass Club meets monthly and takes periodic trips. Members do not have to have boats. The club is a member of the Georgia Bass Federation and FLW. Call P.J. Schneider at 271-1701 or Keith Causeway at 492-5353.

Table tennis club
The Liberty County Recreation Department is organizing a club for table tennis enthusiasts, ages 8 to adult. The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. and on Saturdays at 9 a.m., at Shuman Recreation Center, beginning Sept. 11.  Call 876-5359 for additional information.

YMCA winter fun
Registration for basketball youth, teen, and adult runs Sept. 24 through Nov. 1. Adult Flag Football registration starts on Oct. 1, until Nov. 1.
The YMCA will be hosting ballroom dancing from 6:45-7:45 on Thursdays beginning Sept. 20 and ending Nov. 15. Bring your partner for a free class preview at 6:45p.m. tonight. Registration fees are $90 per couple for YMCA members and $135 per couple for program members. High school students may receive a 20% discount. Bowling
Fort Stewart Youth Bowling will register bowlers, 3-18 years of age, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at Marne Lanes on post. The league will start Sept. 15 at 9:30 a.m. Call Jeff Eastlake at 369-8384 or Marne Lanes at 767-4866 for more information.
The Community Church Bowling League will meet at Marne Lanes on Post at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night Sept. 13. This is a mixed, handicapped league. Come prepared to bowl. Men and women are welcome.

Coastal Crew Rebels
Registration for the St. James Coastal Crew Rebels basketball league runs until Nov. 20. Teams are welcome to join. Age groups are 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18. Registration is free but you must be registered to be considered for the teams. Volunteer coaches are also needed. In addition to basketball, the weight room is open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is available to school athletes. For more information call Ernie Walthour at (912) 884-3016.
