Lily Baker of Hinesville has been selected to serve as the finance chairman for the state YMCA of Georgia in Liberty County for 2013.
The finance drive is under way to support the state YMCA program in middle and high schools in Georgia through Hi-Y, Tri-Hi-Y and Co-ed “Y” Clubs.
“Y” Clubs are leadership development, service-oriented, faith-based school clubs for sixth- through 12th-grade students statewide.  In Liberty County, “Y” Clubs are at Snelson-Golden Middle School and Lewis Frasier Middle School. “Y” Club members conduct monthly school and community-service projects and participate in a variety of conferences geared towards government education and Christian character.
There is progress on getting clubs at the other schools in the county as well. All funds received will go to help aid in that process.
