Cancer-fighting bras on display

SAVANNAH — Visitors to the Savannah Technical College Liberty Campus in October just might see some unusual art on display.
An assortment of bras will hang in the administration building through mid-October as the campus supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The collection began Sept. 19 and will continue through Oct. 21 when the bras will be given to O.C. Welch, owner of O.C. Welch Ford Lincoln, who has promised to donate $1 per bra to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
New and clean, used bras are gladly accepted, said Campus Dean for Student Affairs Terrie Sellers, who organized the collection effort with her staff.
“Breast cancer affects so many women in many ways,” Sellers said. “We thought this was a fun way to bring attention to the cause and help them raise a few dollars.”
Collection boxes are set up at all of the Savannah Technical College campuses in support of the effort, though Liberty will be the only one to display the bras.
To donate, drop off bras at any campus location: 5717 White Bluff Road and 190 Crossroads Parkway in Savannah; Highway 21 in Rincon; and the Fort Stewart Army Education Center and the Liberty Campus on Airport Road in Hinesville.
