John L. and Rhea N. Catoe will celebrate 50 years of marriage Wednesday.

They were high school sweethearts who married May 18, 1966, in Kershaw, South Carolina.

John retired from the military and from Chatham County. Rhea retired from the day care center on Fort Stewart.

In honor of this blessing, their children are giving them a golden anniversary celebration on Saturday at Elim Baptist Church, where they are members and John serves as a Sunday school teacher.

John and Rhea have two children, Lori (Arvon) Lewis of Ludowici and David Catoe of Hinesville. They have 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. They are truly a blessing to their family, who say, "We love you both so much."
