His maternal grandparents are Carmen M. Espada and Gilberto Gongora of Bayamon, Puerto Rico. His paternal grandparents are Virginia Sanchez Pichardo and Efrain Martinez Savaleta of Veracruz. He is also welcomed by sister, Destinee Martinez, and brother, Jose Gilberto Martinez.
