Children's advocate talks to Goldenheirs

Goldenheir's members and guests talk during their last meeting.
The Goldenheirs met Jan. 7 at First Baptist Church in Hinesville for a covered dish lunch and program to start the new year.
Terri Liles, LMSW, coordinator of Helen’s Haven, spoke to members. Helen’s  Haven Children’s Advocacy Center in Liberty County serves Bryan, Evans, Long, McIntosh and Tattnall counties as well. The center aims to help children deal with post-traumatic stress in a safe, non threatening environment while providing suppport and encouraging healing for caregivers. Liles credited many volunteers for helping to make Helen’s Haven a better place for clients.
Goldenheirs is a senior group that meets at noon the first Tuesday of each month at First Baptist in Hinesville. Programs focus on community interest projects and topics.
Chuck Stewart offered his resignation as president. Vice President John Stetzer will assume the duties of president. The next meeting will be Feb. 3. Spier Flanders of H&R Block will speak. All community seniors are invited.
