The Rotary Club of Hinesville on Tuesday recognized Spc. April Walters as its soldier of the month.
Walters, a native of Rock Hill, S.C., is a senior medic for the 4-3 Brigade Special Troops Battalion with two years in the service. A mother of three, Walters also is pursuing her bachelor of arts in history from Columbia College.
Her honors include receiving twice each the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal, as well as the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal and Army Service Ribbon
