SAVANNAH — To ensure cancer patients get to those much-needed treatments, the American Cancer Society provides free rides through its Road To Recovery program.
The society is looking for volunteer drivers in Liberty, Bryan, Chatham and Effingham counties so that all patients have transportation when they need it. An estimated 47,000 Georgia residents will learn that they have cancer this year. However, getting to their scheduled treatment may be a challenge.
For more information or to volunteer, call 912-355-5196 or 1-800-ACS-2345 or go to cancer.org.
