One time, when I was traveling by plane, we had risen above a storm system with the thick clouds below us. I had the window seat and looked out and saw the most beautiful view of the sun, shining in its brilliance.
I saw firsthand the evidence that the sun does rise each and every morning, whether we can see it or not.
This incident reminds me that every day that I rise out of bed, I can look forward to the Lord’s faithfulness to me. I may not be able to always see it or even feel it but I know based on His promises to me in his word that it is a fact.
Lamentations 3:23 reminds us that God’s love and compassions are new each and every day because great is his faithfulness to us.
Sometimes we ask the question, “God, are you even there, do you even care?” He knew there would be times like these, so he has reminded us in many places in the Old and New Testaments that, “He will never leave us or forsake us”.
Just like a good parent does, he may allow us to go through testing times to make us strong and to teach us valuable lessons but, as is taught us in Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him...”
God is faithful and as assured as the sun
