Let God flip the script of your life

Many shows on television are scripted.

What does scripted mean? Scripted, as defined by an online dictionary, refers to the written text of a play, motion picture, or radio or television broadcast. I don’t mean to burst your bubble but your beloved shows, like "Empire," are scripted. "The Good Wife" is scripted. Even "Madam Secretary." The list goes on.

As I thought about this, the Holy Spirit reminded me that many of us have been given roles play or a script to play out. Many times we did not ask for these roles but because of circumstances, sometimes good but most times bad, we find ourselves playing a role as an actor in an ecclesiastical movie that pits Satan against God.

A good book to read that describes this battle is called the "Great Controversy" by Ellen G. White. It details the battle between God and Satan. And here we are in the middle of that great battle between good and evil. And in this battle we have been given a script to play out.

How do we know this? Look in the Bible, David was given a script to play; his role was to fight bears, lions and Goliaths. The script he was given looked dismal, but God showed up and flipped his script and David was victorious through the power of God.

Another person in the Bible, Job, was a millionaire by today’s standard. Job’s script was to endure the loss of all of his assets and children. In one day, he received messages that his assets were destroyed or stolen and his children were killed. Yet, God flipped his script and when it was all said and done Job received double for his trouble.

What script have you been given? Yours may be a script to endure the loss of a loved one or it may be the loss of a job or it may be paying students loans or figuring out how you are going to pay the college of a child. Whatever the script you have been given; I came here to remind you that God is still in the script flipping business.

What does flipping your script mean? It means that God can turn your situation around for his glory. The Bible reminds in Matthew 19:26 "But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."

In order for God to flip our scripts, we have to do what the Bible says in Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

Today if you have that faith of a mustard seed, believe in God and watch God flip your script.
