Rapper DMX believes he's been called to ministry, recently telling popular New York City radio show "The Breakfast Club" that he believes he'll eventually become a pastor, and that he often prays to have a positive impact when he performs.
"That's definitely the final destination, or a destination," the rapper said. "You never know how far God is going to allow me to get or how many people He is going to allow me to reach."
DMX, whose birth name is Earl Simmons, went on to say that he prays before going on stage that he will be able to "just touch one person," saying that he feels that he's "done something wonderful with his life" if he can accomplish that, according to the Christian Post.

The rapper said that he believes that God gave him his music career to create a foundation for a positive platform to one day be set, continuing on to discuss his pastoral plans. DMX even offered up a prediction about his fans.
"When I do become a pastor, I don't think I'm going to lose fans," he said. "I think I'm going to gain more."
DMX who is working on a new album has certainly had his struggles over the years, making headlines on a variety of occasions for financial troubles, arrests and struggles with drugs.
In February, the rapper was reportedly discovered unresponsive in the parking lot of a hotel in Westchester, New York, before being saved by first responders. While one witness said that the incident might have been drug related, DMX's attorney said that it was the result of an asthma attack.
"My heart stopped for four minutes and I have asthma," the rapper told "The Breakfast Club."
Faith, though, is apparently not a new theme in the performer's life.
After it was revealed that he was working on a gospel song back in 2013, DMX's publicist told TheBlaze at the time that the rapper has a strong Christian faith.
"DMXs strong faith in God is always prompting him to create new music that expresses his relationship with God," publicist Domenick Nati said.
While he added that DMX was still reportedly using marijuana, he said that the eventual goal was for the rapper to rid himself of all substances something that he said DMX was relying upon his faith to carry out.
In his most recent interview with "The Breakfast Club," DMX also discussed his past struggles with addiction, saying that music helped him through the battle, the Christian Post reported.
"It was a battle," DMX said of his past struggles. "I still might have some bumps to go over, but at the end of the day I know who's going to get the victory."
In other parts of the interview, DMX said that he tries not to focus on negative comments that are made about him, and that he relies upon belief in himself.
"I really don't focus on what people think about me or people say about me, and the reason why is, if you accept the praises that means that you've got to accept the [bull] too," he said. "I stand on what I believe about myself."
