Things, life can fall apart

We moved into our present house around nine years ago. We have a circular driveway that is concrete close to the house but asphalt on both sides as it gets closer to the road coming into our cul-de-sac.
About three years ago a man came into our community wanting to treat the asphalt so that it would last longer and told me that if it wasn’t maintained it would fall apart.
I thought that he was telling me this information just to sell me his services. I am sad to say that he was right, and for the last year pieces of asphalt have been coming up and breaking off. In other words, there have been consequences for me not maintaining my driveway.
This is also true regarding our spiritual lives. We must maintain our relationship with our God or there will be consequences.
How do we do this? The best way is through communication. Anyone will tell you that communication is the key to a healthy relationship. We communicate with our heavenly Father through prayer, and He communicates with us primarily through His Word or the Bible.
We maintain our relationship by making a commitment to love God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength – in other words, with all of our being.
Also, we need to strengthen our relationship by joining others in worship and not being ashamed to admit we are even in the relationship.
Could it be that the reason your world is falling apart is that you have not been diligent in maintaining this relationship?
