What do you need in life? God's word
pastor corner

In this life, there are many things that a person needs: a place to live, clothes, food and such things.
Many people devote their entire life to obtaining these things; in fact, it becomes their entire focus. They forget who has given them the health and life to work and live.
In what is called the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, “Therefore I say unto you: Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not, neither do they spin. And yet, I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or, ‘What shall we drink?’ or, ‘Wherewithal shall we be clothed?’ (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek), for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof” (Matthew 6:25-34). If more people would listen to these words, they would have better lives.
What happens many times is that people get so busy trying to get ahead, they lose not only their spiritual well-beings, but they also end up losing their families because they had no time for them. God knows best. There is nothing wrong with having things, but they should not become gods to a person.
God has given man something far more precious than the physical blessing. He has given man the opportunity for spiritual life, a home in heaven. Jesus, who willingly gave himself for mankind, is that blessing. “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement” (Romans 5:6-11).
God allowed his Son to be sacrificed for man’s sin. People need to read and study God’s word and obey what it says. It is then that man will begin to understand what he truly needs in life. He needs a savior, and God has provided for this need.
Study God’s word and come to know what is needed in your life.
