Church teams, friends and local officials gathered together for the first Kirk Healing Center for the Homeless Charity Golf Tournament, held Saturday at Cherokee Rose Country Club.
The tournament helped raise funds for programs at Kirk Healing Center as well as awareness of homelessness in Hinesville.
“We’re going to have an annual golf tournament to help fund the Kirk Healing Center as well as recognize Gary Dodd, so the things he’s done for this city will not be forgotten,” said Ray Dent, who helped promote the tournament.
Dr. Alicia Kirk, the founder of Kirk Healing Center, discussed the progress of people who have benefited from the program and thanked those who support the center.
Board members of the healing center and organizers of the tournament, Barbara Martin, Gale Dent, Tim and Carol Beaty, and James Fuller, also attended.
