Governor appoints local to counseling board

Tommy D. Black, a licensed professional counselor in Georgia since 2001 and co-owner and clinical director of Darsey, Black & Associates LLC, recently was appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal to the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists in the Division of Professional
Counselors.
Black has been providing clinical mental-health services to Southeast Georgia since 1998. He is on the advisory board and serves as the chairman of the Policy and Procedures Committee of the National Board of Forensic Evaluators.
Black completed his undergraduate education at the University of Tampa before relocating to Georgia and completing his graduate work.
He and his wife of 16 years, Trang, have twins, Thomas “Eli” and Taryn. The Black family lives in Hinesville.
