After a brief rain Friday evening the first Liberty Fest kicked off in downtown Hinesville and the crowd came out to taste food samples from eateries around Hinesville and Liberty County.

Participants also toured the cars, listened to music and visited with one another. Friday was the first of the two-day festival that organizers hope will become annual.

On Saturday, hundreds crowded into Sunbury when the celebration moved to the coast for a day of activities.

We'll have more on events later.
