Edna Williamson, chairwoman of the board of directors for Hospice of South Georgia, recently announced the addition of new board member Robert Long.
Long also is the chairman of the Long County Board of Commissioners as well as the pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Ludowici.
“Mr. Long will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our agency, and we are proud that he has become part of our hospice family,” Williamson said.
Long is eager to join the Hospice of South Georgia board and help support patients and their loved ones.
“It is an honor for me to be able to serve on the board of directors of such an outstanding agency as Hospice of South Georgia Inc. and represent Long County and the surrounding communities,” Long said. “When a family is faced with a terminal diagnosis of a loved one, it is important to have someone who not only can provide outstanding patient care, but also provide support to the entire family.”
Hospice of South Georgia Inc. is a health-care service available to people facing a variety of life-limiting illnesses and who no longer can benefit from curative treatment. Hospice services can be provided in homes, area hospitals and long-term care facilities.
