From pink balloons to pink punch, the Liberty Regional Medical Center foyer was decked out Monday during a dedication for the hospital's renovated mammography suite.
The Front Runnerz motorcycle club, wearing pink satin ribbons on their signature leather vests, joined LRMC staff at the ceremony to see how the club's recent $500 donation helped give the suite a comfortable and more feminine feel for patients receiving treatment.
"We appreciate your support," LRMC CFO Sam Johnson said. "Breast cancer is something that at some point in time strikes all of our families."
The facelift included an "Our Heroes" bulletin board and ribbon decorations in the waiting room.
A new wall-to-wall mural covers the back wall of the examination room.
LRMC director of nursing Donna Cochrane said the oceanic image was chosen to help relax women undergoing procedures that can be intimidating.
"(It will) give them something to look at to help take away the fear," Cochrane said.
Patient services continued during renovations to the mammography suite.
The addition of another technician also allowed for extended hours, according to Cochrane.
