New Bone and Joing Institute opens in Jesup

JESUP — The Bone & Joint Institute of South Georgia opened its new, 15,000-square-foot facility on Aug. 23 at 110 Professional Court in Jesup.
Formerly Kenerly Orthopaedic Center, the new location provides orthopaedic services, featuring on-site, open MRI and x-ray services and an ambulatory surgery center.
“We’re excited to be practicing in our new facility, and grateful for the continued support of our patients and the whole community,” Dr. J Lex Kenerly III said. “We’ll continue to use our extensive experience and cutting-edge technology to provide our patients the expert, compassionate care and the personal attention they expect from us.”
Dates for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house will be announced soon.
Kenerly, who has offices in Jesup and Baxley, has been serving 10 Southeast Georgia counties for more than 22 years. He specializes in sports medicine, total joint replacement of the hip, knee and shoulder.
Kenerly is a graduate of Wayne Country High School, the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine. After medical school, he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the Greenville Hospital System and Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children in Greenville, S.C. Kenerly then returned to his hometown to open his practice.
