The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce will host the Progress Through People Luncheon at noon Thursday, March 27, at the Performing Arts Center in Flemington.
The subject for this luncheon will be stroke telemedicine and will be conducted by doctors from Liberty Regional Medical Center. Stroke telemedicine is a new partnership between Liberty Regional Medical Center and Memorial Health University Medical Center. A demonstration of the Stroke Telemedicine technology will be included.
Dr. Joel Greenberg with Memorial Health University Medical Center will be the speaker. Greenberg is a neurologist and co-medical director of Memorial’s stroke services.
“We are pleased with our recent partnership in Stroke Telemedicine with Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. The availability of this caliber of health care is vital for our community,” said Scott Kroell, CEO of Liberty Regional Medical Center, which is sponsoring the luncheon. “Those experiencing stroke symptoms have a resource right here, within minutes, where they may receive a prompt evaluation, diagnosis and administration of any necessary medication which may be vital in mitigating the effects of stroke.”
The cost to attend is $15 for chamber members and $20 for non-members. RSVP by Tuesday, March 25, by calling 368-4445 or emailing assistant@libertycounty.org.
