Two blood drives here April 18

The American Red Cross has set two blood drives in Liberty county for April 18, both at hospitals; Liberty Regional Medical Center from 1-6 p.m. and Winn Army Community Hospital from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Both are are open to the public.
A release from the organization said staff members hope to schedule more drives in the area in April, and that more volunteers, sponsors and partners are needed.

You can also visit www.redcrossblood.org to find the nearest blood drive or donor center. Donors must be 17 or older and weigh at least 110 pounds. Sixteen-year-olds may donate with a signed parental consent form.
Blood can be donated every 56 days, and platelet donations can be made every two weeks, up to 26 times a year.
