Workshop on diabetes in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK -- As part of Southeast Georgia Health System's on-going series of free health lectures and workshops, board certified endocrinologist Shenon Badre, MD, will present "Understanding and Managing Your Diabetes."
This workshop will take place Thursday from 7-9 p.m., in conference room 1 of the Brunswick Campus, 2415 Parkwood Drive.
The event will cover information on understanding diabetes, diabetes meal planning, proper carbohydrate counting, exercise, diabetes preparedness, including how to make a disaster preparedness kit, travel tips for diabetics, hypo/hyperglycemia management, and sick day management. Additional topics will include blood sugar testing glycemic goals, when to test blood sugars, proper handling and storage of insulin, management of insulin injection sites, and more.
