The Ludowici/Long County Christmas parade drew a crowd Saturday to the center of town, where temperatures made it feel as if spring was in the air. But despite the warmth, the sights and sounds of Christmas were abundant.

Parade grand marshal Kent Hall was escorted by his wife, Linda. Special Troops Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Heidi Hoyle, Command Sgt. Maj. Anthony Whitney and a color guard represented the 3rd Infantry Division in the procession.

This year, the parade was comprised of 40 entries, including 13 floats. A New Beginning Church won first place for the best entry in the parade. The Long County Bus Shop won second place, while The United Methodist Church finished in the third spot.

After the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus went to the Ludowici Well Pavilion, where they posed for pictures while kids told them what they wanted for Christmas.

The parade was sponsored by the Long County Chamber of Commerce.
