LUDOWICI -- Under a full moon Saturday, Long County High School had its Junior/Senior Prom at the Celebration Castle on Elim Church Road.
Attendees began to show up around 7:30 p.m. with the event kicking off at 8.  The castle was decorated with flowers and lights throughout both the inside and outside of the building.
Principal Dr. Delores Mallard and Assistant Principal David Edwards welcomed all the students, along with several other teachers.
The guys in their tuxes and girls in their formal dresses all socialized and danced throughout the night, until parents began to show up at around 10.
At this time, emotions were felt and tears shed as the proud parents watched each of their graduating children make the Senior Walk with their escort.
Math teacher Christie Nevil introduced the seniors and then introduced the Junior Prince and Princess and the Senior King and Queen.
The junior royalty was prince Ricky Rivera and princess Liz Schwab, while the king of the prom was Matt Crivello and the queen was Brea Ferry.
After the formalities, all the kids were back on the dance floor and sitting at tables, remembering their past and talking about their futures.
Patricia Durham, who was at the prom with her two sons Devin and Jake said, "These kids worked very hard putting all of this together, and they did an excellent job."
The proud mom added, "Everyone is having such a good time, and the memories from tonight will be with them for the rest of their lives."
