Sarah Victoria Scott Nephew turned 103 On Wednesday.

The Long County native, best known as Vicky, has lived most of her life, except for several years in Savannah and on Ossabaw Island, in the county. Born in 1913, she said she has witnessed many changes.

She lives in the Macedonia area on Broad Level Road with her daughters.

Last year, during an interview, she gave this advice: "Live the best you can. Life has so many surprises for us. Ask the Lord to hold your hand and lead you until you reach the Promised Land!"

Nephew is believed to be the oldest living person in Long County.
