The Ludowici Police Department recognized its seven full- and part-time 911 dispatchers April 15 to commemorate National Public Safety Telecommunications Week.
Dispatchers recognized were Alison Wyatt, Samantha Strickland, Amber Flowers, Rachel Tillman, Betty Phillips, Shelby Kuzlik and Austin Simmons.
Each dispatcher was given a tumbler set and a tote that read “911 Dispatchers the True First Responders.”
“I wanted to make sure we expressed our appreciation to the local dispatchers for the work they do day and night to help provide the thin, gold line between the person needing help and first responders en route,” LPD Chief Robert Poppell said.
National Public Safety Telecommunications Week was celebrated April 12-19, according to Tri
