Musical retells Prodigal Son
churchplay

Faithwalk Productions, a Virginia-based production company, presents “Living in Recovery,” a remake of the Bible’s “Prodigal Son” twice on Aug. 20 at the Liberty County Performing Arts Center.

The musical depicts a woman’s journey of losing it all before an epiphany that restores her in the care and protection of a loving God. It shows how far God will go to reclaim one of his own. The production includes acting, music and comedy.

Latrese B. Carter wrote and directs “Living in Recovery.” She has written and produced more than 15 plays/musicals since starting Faithwalk Productions in 2008. In 2014 she was named Director/Producer of the year by the Southeastern Virginia Arts Association.

Others featured include gospel recording artists Dr. Adrienne Lee, Sandra Knox and Juanita Wynn, and Liberty County’s own Donald Lovette. There will also be musical performances by Ludowici’s singing psalmist Lisa Nicole, Hinesville saxophonist Bernard Rose and Gospel 94.9 FM’s marketing director and jubilant joy-bringer and psalmist Janelle Johns.

Performances are at 2 and 7 p.m. Doors open an hour earlier.

Admission costs $32 in advance and $37 at the door. VIP tickets cost $48 and $53 at the door, and include a red carpet reception at 5 p.m. Tickets are available at VHS Financial, 105 N. Main St., Hinesville, online at www.ticketriver.com and www.faithwalkproductions.net or by calling 757-943-9336 or 912-570-1530.
