The Hinesville Downtown Partners are accepting participation forms for the fourth annual Scarecrow Stroll and Beggars Night, which is scheduled for 4-6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in downtown Hinesville.

The free event allows kids to fill treat bags with goodies from local businesses.

Merchants, nonprofit groups, restaurants and other businesses are invited to participate. Businesses that do not have downtown storefronts can set up in Bradwell Park. Participants also can decorate booths and provide activities that must be approved by the event committee.

Several thousand participants are expected. The 2011 event had an estimated attendance of 10,000 people. Participation forms are at www.hinesvilledowntown.com.

The event, which occurs the Friday before Halloween, was created by the Hinesville Downtown Partners to provide residents and visitors with a family oriented Halloween activity.

For more information, call Katrina Barrow at 877-4332 or email discoverdowntown@coastalnow.net. Event maps will be available online at www.hinesvilledowntown.com, by email request or can be picked up from downtown merchants beginning Thursday, Oct. 25.
