Scout leaders, volunteers earn awards

The Liberty County Scoutmaster and Cub Scout Leader of the Year awards were given to Boy Scout Troop 410 leader Joel Jacobs and Pack 410 Cub Scout leader Lienne Hill on Dec. 13 at the annual Boy Scout/Cub Scout volunteer recognition dinner. In addition, the Spark Plug award was given to Deuce Correa. The award honors volunteers who add a “spark” to their troops or packs.
Both the Cub Scout pack and Boy Scout troop are supported by the First Presbyterian Church of Hinesville. Boys in grades 1-5 may join Cub Scouts. Meetings are from 6-7 p.m. Fridays in room 10. Boys in grades 6-12 may join Boy Scouts. Meetings are from 6:30-8 p.m. Mondays in the social hall.
