Sound off for April 11

Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

For the ones breaking into houses when people go to work: If you would use your skills and qualities finding a job, you’d be better off.

Yes, Tiger should be allowed in the prestigious golf tournament. If all the workers in the workforce who committed adultery were not allowed to work anymore, how many workers would we have?

I often wonder why, with all the No. 1 and No. 6 plastics we get at the grocery store, there aren’t any bins for them at the recycling center.

It’s bad when you run around with a married man and they can’t give you anything. Ladies, don’t you get tired of married men lying to you?

Why are people so jealous about what people are driving or what they’re living in? That’s their personal business. If you didn’t pay for it, you shouldn’t complain. Go read your Bible.

I was at the city council meeting Thursday and was overwhelmed. My councilman, in District 5, voted against the pay raise. Kenneth Shaw did the right thing.

We need to vote that mayor out of office in Hinesville. He’s the one that let all this go through. And the council, too, we need to vote them out of office this year. Our taxes are just going to keep going up, up because of greedy people.

I see where those raises went through. Just because the mayor got $40 million in federal assistance granted to this town does not give him the authority to give it to himself and his little friends up there.

I’m going to check and see what salaries of city officials are in other cities around this area.
