Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Hinesville’s had its first Veterans Day parade. I know that with the size of this community and it being a military community that we could have more participation, both military and civilian. These guys deserve it.

It’s now time for the Liberty County Commission and Hinesville City Council to take a serious look at the money they are spending and the debt they are putting on us the taxpayers. The economy is bad, but we’re steadily spending money.

I want to compliment Joselynn McKenna for her military spouse columns. As a 30-year military retiree and watching my family during that time and during deployments, I see the wife has a tremendous job. This lady is right on.

Thank you, Clyde’s Market in Midway. Your gas price is the same as in Richmond Hill, $2.49. No more driving to Richmond Hill.

The city of Riceboro had one of the best festivals I’ve ever been to. Good food, the people were nice, officials were nice. We’ll see you again next year.

Ah, here it is, the only day off and the only chance to do nothing. It would be nice to read the paper, but again it’s not here when I get up and want to read it.
