Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

I seen in the paper where McIver said that taxes are going up. You can’t expect us citizens of Liberty County to pay for y’als’ mistakes. You spent a lot of money thinking that fifth brigade was coming and now it’s not coming so you expect us to pick up the bill.

If we can't drive around with windows that are too dark, in other words tinted, why is that certain police officers in neighboring cities are allowed? In Walthourville the police car windows are so dark you can’t even see who’s driving. Why?

I really wish the person that prints the shaded area on the TV guide would put on sunglasses in a dark room to see how much trouble I have reading them.

Regarding the program with the young commissioner and church, how do they measure the outcome and how do they screen people who go into the program since they are using church funds?
