Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not know if they are true, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

I hope the taxpayers of Liberty County get a big slice of the $75 million to give us some relief for the debt our elected officials voted to spend on the belief we were going to get more soldiers, which we didn’t. Or is going to the poor rich people who need bailing out because of this misunderstanding.

Beware of the snakes moving into Smiley Woods. With the woods being cut down, snakes are moving into yards. Watch for your kids, your pets and your safety. Watch where you step.

You know how it’s funny you grow up with someone all your life and the minute they go and get married to someone, who is just using them to have a baby, they think they’re better than you.

They burned cells in my esophagus this morning. Somebody finally figured how to shut me up after all these years.
