Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not know if they are accurate, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Regarding Sunday’s paper, we need more industry instead of relying on the military. We have a beautiful industrial park at the Tradeport, so let’s use that.

As a citizen and property owner in Hinesville I’m glad the fifth brigade is not coming. Our town is too small to handle the traffic as it is. From where I live on any given day it takes me five to seven minutes to get out on 196.

I been here living in Hinesville for 30 years and never had any problems with mosquitoes until now. I’m just wondering why they aren’t spraying or keep waiting to spray. The mosquitoes are getting bigger, thicker. Pretty soon they’ll carry us away.

I am very concerned about the drinking and drug use and parties and people driving around on golf carts and other vehicles around Sunbury and Dutchman Cove. Do the cops or MACE not control this? We’re trying to move families into this nice place.
