Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Senior citizens, beware. I just found out that your waste management fee, mine is $104 a year, is supposed to be off your tax bill and you go down in January of every year to get it off. This has not been published the way it should have been.

Obama is not only not keeping us safe, he’s bankrupting the country with his spending. Who do you think is going to pay for all this, the taxpayers and future generations. His agenda for this country is socialism.

Long County’s greed in hiring an Atlanta tax assessor in order to increase our farm taxes 400 percent higher has made them the most despised people in Ludowici. How do they sleep at night?

To Sunday’s caller about the young commissioner doing a great job helping people in the neighborhood. It’s not just about the commissioner. There are a lot of people that make that program a success. Give credit where credit is due.

Are babies supposed to be taken to work with their parents every day? I don’t believe so. There’s more than one store doing it.

The city of Hinesville is doing a very poor job on mosquito control this year. You can’t go out any time without getting eaten alive. Sure hope they are not carrying diseases.

To the Walthourville Police Department, when you come to Midway to fill up on Bacontown Road, you need to slow down. It’s not like you have an emergency here.
