Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not know if they are true, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Yes, city council and mayor are going to St. Simons for a workshop and they invited certain citizens. Who’s funding the bill? They need to have the workshop on a bus while they’re checking out Hinesville.

That caller who received the $600 check from George Bush must’ve been one of his rich Republican buddies. Also, I did show my ignorance by using the word cracker. I should have said Georgia redneck.

Has the new mighty who have risen to the top think they will stay there? There are not guarantees in life today.

I can’t wait to get my elected officials’ autographs.

I’d like to give a shoutout to the good people of Walthourville for all the progress they are making in spite of the few devils.

Altamaha Technical College was a great school for me. I’m graduating soon and I’ve got a job. In these times, if you don’t have a job, recommend you go to Altamaha.

I’ve decided that since everybody thinks I’m driving around with my brights on that I’m going to start driving around with my brights on. I’m so sorry I have good headlights.
