The school in Long County is asking the public for money to help the band get to New Orleans. When they had people that offered to help raise money, people as far away as Augusta wanted to come and help. One organization was going to donate $500, but they would not let them use the gym. The people were going to clean everything they found — and no way. They were going to clean everything. They were too scared that the VFW people would not take care of things. As far as I’m concerned, they can deal with it themselves.

With the situation that happened at Midway Middle School recently, parents are complaining that it took (the school) an hour to call them for their child. They must keep in mind that their child was not the only one to be threatened that day. The sheriff, the Liberty County Board of Education and anyone involved in the Midway Middle organization did an outstanding job of protecting those kids. Parents are never satisfied. For one reason or another, they always find something to complain about. Those kids were safe, and thanks to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and Midway Middle School administration.

I just passed the Walthourville Fire Department, and they’re having one of these free-food giveaways. Of the vehicles parked in the surrounding area, I noticed the bulk of them were rather new, high-line vehicles. So the question begs to ask: What is the qualifying earnings for a person to receive the free food. Or is there any requirement?

I’m calling in about the gas prices. It’s ridiculous because this time last week, I paid $3.14 a gallon. Today, I’m paying $3.44. The only reason why the government can get away with this is because the people will pay it because of Christmas and the holidays. This is outrageous.
