Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does  not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

To those certain voters in Long County/Ludowici: If you don’t know the difference between a city election and a county election, why are you voting to start with?

Yes, jobs are hard to come by. I was at the tag office standing in line. The lady in front of the sign was reading a book. I think that was very inappropriate.

Why is it this certain lady goes to the Manna House every other day and gets those people’s food when she doesn’t really need it? She’s well fed, she gets a retirement check and another check — she doesn’t really need it. There’s no accounting for greed.

I believe animal control needs to come pick up all of those cats in Arlington Park. If those cats belong to you, leave them in your house and not in people’s cars or yards.

Pharaoh was told to let Moses’ people go, but he would not let them go until God struck the land with seven different plagues. God will strike the land over and over again until his people are set free from slavery. Occupy until he comes.

I would rather depend on my husband’s income than depend on a government check. I heard a lady say, “I don’t depend on no man for income,” — because she gets a government check every month, sitting on her butt.
