Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not know if they are true, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

I just watched two city workers take 45 minutes to paint one fire hydrant. Do the math on that maintenance. See what it’s costing the city.

Kudos to Mr. Keel’s article on the board of education. Parents, do you know how many at the board are getting six-figure salaries? But the cuts came at the school level.

I thought it was very unprofessional to print Krystal Britton’s salary in the paper. Yes, it’s public record, but never have I seen it printed before. I wonder if it is getting to be a race issue.

I saw and excellent idea on the news the other night. Have children walk to school one day a week. We need that policy not only for the exercise, but also to cut our taxes.

Excellent idea about Fort Stewart having its own middle and high schools in Sound off. And then it may not make the front page of the paper as not making AYP.

I woke up this morning to some very disappointing news. Your president, America, won the Nobel Peace Prize. He has done absolutely nothing to deserve this award. It is a slap in the face to all who have won it before. May God help us.
