Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not know if they are true, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Is there a place in Hinesville or Liberty County where one can learn to handle a gun safely, a handgun?

I would not be proud of getting food stamps. Anyone who would be proud of that must not have much pride. What is wrong with America?

Food stamps are a great benefit to the people who actually need it, but not those who are just sitting at home, too lazy to work. So for the smooches, you can put them up on my buttocks.

How can you handle other people’s taxes, when you can’t even handle your own finances?

Just because you are gay or lesbian doesn’t mean you don’t believe in God or Jesus, or that you aren’t a Christian. You can’t help who you fall in love with. Besides, only God can judge me.
Yes, on your who’s who or the best of the businesses section, what were the standards on how they were picked? And, there are no daycares in there. So can you publish the criteria and include the daycares?
Editor’s note: Liberty Loves 2009 was a readers’ favorite section. The selections were based solely on reader votes as explained in the ads and stories leading up to the section. Also, including daycares is a good idea. We’ll try to include them next year.
