Stand Down for Homeless set for Sept. 15

A Stand Down for Homelessness will be from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Salvation Army, 3000 Bee Road, in Savannah.
The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, in partnership with the Savannah VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic, the Savannah Vet Center, Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless, the Salvation Army, DAV, the Military Order of the Purple Heart and Army One Source are organizing the sixth annual event.
The stand down is a collaborative effort by many organizations and volunteers and includes social work students from Savannah State University.
It is free and intended to serve homeless veterans, but is open to all homeless or near homeless individuals.
