The latest play from Liberty County author Donald Lovette, “Mama Turn the Radio On II: It Ain’t Easy,” will debut tonight at 7 at Brewton-Parker College. Tickets are $10.
There will be a red carpet night Saturday, featuring a reception at 6 p.m. before the performance. Formal dress is required and tickets are $20.
The play also will be staged at 5 p.m. Sunday at Full Gospel Tabernacle. Tickets are $10. For more information, call 977-3293 or go to www.love-it-productions.com.
“This is a lot of work but it’s a labor of love,” Lovette said. “The productions have made me realize the impact of drama on people lives. For many people, it is like looking into their households. Many of them have relayed to me how they readily identify with the characters. This fulfills my objective for my work to be the real thing. I am not interested in historical plays or works by famous writers that do not touch the lives of those who I see daily.”
