Bluff Creek Stables in Midway will host its third annual Fall Horse Show Saturday when competitors from across southeast Georgia will participate.
“The fun begins at 9:30 a.m.,” Mary Anne Jones, stables owner, said.
She encourages anyone planning to attend to bring a lawn chair. People can look forward to enjoying the lively program on freshly cut grass and seeing an  estimated 100 competitors around the riding ring.
Colorful tents will be set up and riders will be outfitted in full habits, the official name for the equestrian uniforms.
“We want to introduce people to this breed, this sport and this discipline,” Jones said.
She explained how competitions called hunt seat and saddle seat will showcase talent of the horses and their riders
Cathy Hackney, the stables instructor, says the skill level of riders vary from six months to years of training. Riders compete in different divisions, ranging from beginner to advanced.
Some riders will compete later in a national show in Atlanta.
Bluff Creek Stables opened in October 2002. The facility operates on more than 100 acres  at Bluff Creek housing development, on the marsh in east Liberty.
