Acclaimed “CSI New York” actor and USO supporter Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fort Stewart’s Walker Field. The public is invited to the free concert.
The musical group is crisscrossing the nation as part of a USO tour.
Sinise, who plays bass in the band, was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role as Lt. Dan in the film “Forrest Gump.” He named his 12-member cover band for that character.
The concert is part of April’s celebration of  “Month of the Military Child,” which salutes children for the sacrifices they make so their parents can serve the nation.
Walker Field adjoins the Bennett Sports Complex on Fort Stewart. To enter the post, drivers must present a valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of vehicle insurance. Passengers must have a photo ID.
