Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

To the people in Hinesville, especially on Olive Street: Christmas is over, Kwanzaa is over, the inauguration is over. Please take down you Christmas lights.

We have often been asked to make peace with Mother Earth. I strongly urge that we first make peace with the Creator of Mother Earth.

I’m sending all my catalog companies a note. All the clothes in those catalogs are imported. We need to wake up and let them know we’re tired of not having jobs in America.

I asked my husband if he knew what time he was born on his birthday. He told me he was too young then to remember. He’s 75 years old today.

Well isn’t that pretty? We’ve got dead pines and now steeples at our industrial park entrance.

The National Mall doesn’t need refurbishing. We don’t need the arts at all. What we need are jobs.

 If someone does you wrong, put it in God’s hand. He will take care of those evil-doers. I’ve seen it time and again.

To the caller who said Obama is just a name. Yeah, just a name that will be remembered as the president that brought the country out of the mess
